Literacy
We love reading and writing in Year 3. During the Autumn Term the children will be learning how to write poems, plays and fantastic stories. We have already learned how to include speech and adjectives in order to make our writing exciting.
It is vital that the children continue to read every night at home. When you listen to your child read, please encourage them to use expression and question them in order to ensure they have listened to what they have read. This will help prepare them for the comprehension work that we will be doing next term. When you read at home, don't forget to sign the reading record!
There are lots of things we have to remember when we write! We plan carefully, use full stops and capital letters, try to include exciting vocabulary and then check our work. On top of all that, we also use our lovely handwriting!
